Ribbon Embroidery Project: Raya Cookies Cannisters

FINAL LOOK!

I decided to forgo the golden lace and used the pink lace instead. I finished up these in the final week of Ramadhan.

There are 3 other designs which will be featured in separate entries.

COMPLETED ON 22/08/09.

I completed these last night. Will add up the golden lace later.

These cannisters are inspired by my RE sifu's wonderful creations. There's a tutorial in her blog. Thank you, PnAnn!

I decided to keep the design very simple since I still have to make another 5 covers to complete the set.

WMC's Decoupage Exchange: # 4 part 2

A wooden heart on hanger. I did both side but this is the only one with writing.

I added the paper rope & a small bunch of potpouri (I hope it survives the journey up north) as the final touch.

Simple!

WMC's Decoupage Exchange: # 4 part 1

The is wooden lace heart with peg.

Serviette used is IHR's Miss Rossy. Pink seems to be the perfect choice for this project but I added the light green shading last - it looks mossy instead of shabby but still as nice.

This is the original photo. It's quite sturdy with 2 hooks at the back.

I'm commisionned to do a few more by a friend. If you're also interested, do let me know :-)

Decoupage Project: Mum's Kitchen

I made this for my online friend, Ibumifzal.

She doesn't favour flower (much) so we decided to go with IHR's 5 O'clock Tea. I added up a bit of a few roses (in decal) to make it more interesting.

Ribbon Embroidery Project: Topiary

This topiary was made on a whim and completed in 2 evenings.

Ribbon Embroidery Project: Needlebook

This my needlebook.

It's actually my first attempt at embroidering using ribbon.

Ribbon Embroidery Project: Lavendar Bookmarks

I enjoyed doing these bookmarks. The method to do it was well explained in the Ann Cox's book.

Decoupage Project: Glass Jars

These jars are from IKEA, the serviette Herbarium. I gently shaded the jars with Plaid's Folk Art Taffy (quite similar to Americana's Buttercream)

It's definitely on top of my Wish List.

Publisher: Sterling/Chapelle (August 28, 2006)
Language: English
ISBN-10: 1402740549
ISBN-13: 978-1402740541

Decoupage Project: A Dozen of Roses

I made these early this year. I personally call them A Dozen of Roses (tho a proper count will produce more than that). A third was not photographed.

For WMC's Decoupage EG Round 2.

For CoCo.

This is IHR's Rambling Rose. Shaded the background with Plaid's Folk Art Baby Pink diluted with waterclear retarder.

The Home Sweet Home font is nice but quite tricky (to me). I used DecoColour Brown marker paint but for the second (and third) Americana's Burnt Umber instead

Ribbon Embroidery Project: Handmade Card

My first craft has always been ribbon embroidery. But it has been quite a while (very hard to recover once bitten by the decoupage bug, I guess)

Well, I made this card for an online friend.

It was fun to thread the ribbons through paper but one definitely have to take extra care while doing it. Design was adapted from one featured in Ann Cox's Silk Ribbon Greeting Cards.
